What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is the use of cold temperatures to provide relief from many ailments. The use of an ice pack on an injury is a form of cryotherapy.

Whole body cryotherapy was developed in Japan in the 1970’s for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Summit Sports Recovery uses an Impact Cryotherapy Sauna, made in the USA. Our treatments last up to 3 minutes and can reach temperatures of -120 degrees. Don’t worry though, there will be someone with you the entire time talking you through the treatment and you can pause the temperature or stop the treatment at any time. Our friendly team will provide you with booties, gloves and a robe.
